Gold Testing & Assaying
Each method answers a different question. These groupings help clients find the relevant technique; they are not separate business divisions or a claim that every method suits every material.
Fire Assay is widely regarded as the benchmark method for determining precious-metal content.
A small, representative portion of the material is prepared and heated under controlled laboratory conditions. This process separates the precious metals from other components, allowing the gold content to be accurately measured.
Fire Assay is typically recommended whenever a high degree of accuracy is required for valuation, refining, settlement or independent verification.
XRF analysis provides a fast reading of the elements detected on or near the surface of a metallic sample without damaging the material.
It is useful for rapid screening, routine verification, and situations where a client needs an initial composition reading before deciding whether further laboratory analysis is required.
Most clients do not need to select an analytical method before contacting us.
