Bilex Minerals EA is a family-owned precious-metals services company established in 2019, with operations in Kenya and Tanzania.
We support buyers, sellers, miners, traders, refineries and international clients through independent precious-metals testing, gold buyer and seller introductions, and transaction coordination.
Why Bilex Was Established
Bilex was founded in 2019 after the founding family saw how difficult it could be for precious-metal buyers and sellers to establish what they were dealing with before funds or material changed hands.
Buyers needed an independent reference for the material presented to them. Sellers needed a clearer way to document what they were offering. Both sides needed information they could examine before making an important commercial decision.
Laboratory testing remains our principal service. Over time, Bilex has also developed services that connect gold buyers and sellers and support selected stages of commercial transactions.

Independent by design
Bilex Minerals EA is a family-owned precious-metals services company established in 2019. Based in Kenya and Tanzania, we provide independent laboratory testing and verification while also supporting gold sourcing, buyer and seller introductions, and selected commercial transactions.
Our laboratory work is carried out in house. The method is selected according to the material, the question being asked and the way the result will be used. That may involve Fire Assay, XRF, instrumental analysis or physical bullion verification.
Licensing and Transaction Responsibilities
Bilex Minerals EA is a licensed mineral dealer in Kenya and Tanzania. Independent precious-metals testing and verification remain the company's principal services. Bilex also supports gold buying, selling, sourcing and selected trade and export transactions.
Bilex may purchase selected small quantities of gold directly. For larger transactions, our usual role is to connect buyers and sellers and support the agreed transaction process. When Bilex purchases material itself, its commercial interest is disclosed. Any third-party verification must be distinguished from Bilex's own laboratory work. Export shipments remain subject to the permissions and documentation required for the specific consignment.
Why independence matters
Precious metal transactions can carry significant financial risk. A seller may have a stated purity, a buyer may have an expected value, and a shipment may arrive with documents that appear complete. None of those things replaces independent examination of the material.
Bilex keeps the analytical result separate from the commercial outcome. The laboratory reports what was found in the submitted or controlled sample, even when the result is different from what one of the parties expected.
The sample comes before the number
A laboratory result is only meaningful when it can be connected to the material that was tested. That is why intake, sample identity, preparation, method selection and reporting matter as much as the instrument or furnace itself.
Ore may need crushing, pulverising and homogenisation. Doré and bullion require metallic sampling and preparation that reflects the form of the material. XRF surfaces may be cleaned and polished before measurement. Each method begins with understanding what the sample represents.
In house analytical capability
Bilex performs Fire Assay, handheld and desktop XRF analysis, ICP OES, AAS, ICP MS, PhotonAssay, Metallic Screen Fire Assay, ultrasonic examination and density or hydrostatic testing in house.
These methods are not interchangeable. Some measure precious metal content from a representative prepared portion. Some measure surface elemental composition. Some determine trace elements from solution. Others examine the physical integrity of a solid bar. The value of the laboratory lies in choosing the right evidence for the question.
Serving international clients from East Africa
Our work is based in East Africa, but many of the decisions supported by our reports happen across borders. International buyers may be assessing material before purchase. Exporters may need laboratory records connected to a shipment file. Refineries may need intake information that can be reconciled with their own receiving process.
Bilex is positioned to provide the laboratory evidence and, where required, coordinate transaction support through appropriate external providers.
Company records and transparency
Bilex makes selected company information available for client verification where appropriate. Company records, laboratory reports and transaction documents should be read in the scope in which they were issued. A company document can confirm who Bilex is. A laboratory report can confirm what was found in the identified sample. Neither should be stretched beyond the question it was created to answer.
