How to Sell Gold in Kenya: Prepare a Verifiable Selling Proposal
Prepare a gold sale in Kenya with clear material details, seller authority, testing arrangements and verifiable commercial terms.

A serious gold sale begins with a clear description of the material, proof that the person offering it has authority to do so, and an agreed way to verify its quantity and purity. These steps are useful whether the buyer is in Kenya or overseas. They also help the seller identify which parts of a proposed deal need specialist advice.
Identify the material and its present holder
State whether you are offering doré, refined bars, nuggets, scrap or another material. Record the estimated weight, how it has been measured, the location where it is held and whether it is available for supervised inspection. Avoid promising a guaranteed purity based on colour, a photograph or a test on a different parcel.
If you have an earlier assay report, share the date, method, sample reference and the material to which it relates. Ask whether a potential buyer will require fresh independent testing of the actual lot.
Clarify your legal and commercial role
Are you the owner, a duly authorised dealer, an agent or an exporter acting for another party? Your offer should identify the legal seller who will sign the contract and receive payment. Kenya's State Department for Mining explains the relevant mineral-dealing rights and export-permit functions. A domestic dealing permit does not itself establish eligibility to export. Check the current requirements through the official licensing service and FAQs.
Do not publicly circulate licence numbers or personal identification documents before verifying the recipient and deciding what must be disclosed securely.
Prepare for independent testing
Discuss a representative sampling plan before agreeing payment. XRF analysis can provide a preliminary elemental screen for suitable samples. Fire Assay, supported by suitable sample preparation, may be used to determine gold content for commercial discussion. Confirm who pays, who chooses the laboratory, who receives the results and how differences will be resolved.
Compare the whole offer
An offer needs more than a headline price. Ask for the price reference, calculation basis, payable gold proportion, deductions, inspection location, delivery conditions and settlement timing. Where money is held by an intermediary, identify the independent bank or escrow provider and read the actual release instructions.
Do not transfer custody of gold solely on an assurance that payment is 'being arranged'. Keep records of handover, testing and the identity of the authorised recipient.
Submit a complete enquiry
For a Sell Gold enquiry, provide the material form, approximate weight, location, available assay information, evidence of authority to sell and preferred timeframe. Bilex Minerals EA is a licensed mineral dealer in Kenya and Tanzania. It may purchase selected small quantities directly; larger selling opportunities are generally considered for buyer introductions. Testing and transaction support can be discussed separately. When Bilex is the purchaser, it must disclose that commercial interest, and the parties may agree on independent third-party verification.
